A Copilot license is not a workflow.

Microsoft 365 Copilot drafts text. It does not route work, approve exceptions, or update your CRM. Here is the gap Indigo Tango closes.

The seat can be active and the work can be unchanged.

Copilot is good at a draft: a summary of a thread, a rewrite, a first pass at a document in a library it can see. That is a real saving for a person who was staring at a blank page. It is not a system that notices a new lead, opens the CRM, and waits for approval.

Companies call Indigo Tango after the licenses are purchased and the usage report is quiet. The team was not resisting AI. Nobody changed the path the work takes. The old inbox is still the process.

The missing pieces are ordinary.

A workflow needs a trigger, a source of truth, a rule for the boring cases, and a stop for the strange ones. Copilot does not supply those. Power Automate, a small integration, and a Teams approval often do. Copilot then sits on top of a defined step — summarize this packet for the approver — instead of being asked to “run the department.”

• Trigger: a mailbox, a form, a status change, a file landing in a known library

• Source of truth: the CRM, QuickBooks, SharePoint library, or ERP you already argue is official

• Rule: what can move ahead when the fields match

• Stop: what must wait for a named person

Turn the license into a step, or pause the rollout.

If you cannot name the step Copilot will take this month, more seats will not help. Pick one repeated task, point it at documents you trust, and measure whether the next person in line gets time back. Indigo Tango does that inside an assessment, then builds the path around it.

Data stays in the tenant you govern. The model does not get to train on your files, and it does not get to write to a business system without the checkpoint you agreed to.

Questions people ask before they call.

Should we cancel Copilot?

Not as a reflex. Cancel seats nobody has a task for. Keep seats that sit on a defined step you can point at. The assessment separates those two groups.

Can Copilot update our CRM on its own?

Treat that as a workflow with an approval, not as a chat prompt. The write-back should be a designed step with a permission and a log.
